With this masterful adaptation of Mary Shelley's work, David Sala doesn't simply offer a sublime graphic interpretation. His choice of this novel among all the masterpieces of literature stems from a special connection he finds with themes dear to him: the acceptance of difference, the fear of the unknown, violence against minorities, popular revenge... Themes already explored in his previous graphic novels, which he highlights here to make this Frankenstein his most personal work to date. Indeed, Frankenstein is an incredibly modern work that reminds us of the great challenges facing our society.
