The tranquility of the small French village of Beaufort is shattered by an event that, at first glance, seems to defy explanation. Farmer Henri Morillon has found one of his cows dead under strange circumstances: completely drained of blood. Some of the villagers, like the young Jérôme, believe that the Grisard mansion is connected to the incident. The old house had stood uninhabited and abandoned for many years, until the beautiful and enigmatic Isabelle suddenly moves in, returning to the town of her birth from which she fled long ago. The mystery surrounding this woman arouses the suspicions of her neighbors, and the local gendarme, the young Max, begins to investigate...
