Saturday, Sunday tells a story and retells it years later. In the first part, a teenager recounts a scandalous incident from the previous summer. He and his friend Chino go out on a Saturday and pick up a waitress. The night seems to be going well, until everything goes wrong and ends in disaster: it's a fateful Saturday that our narrator refuses to remember. But after every Saturday comes a Sunday. Twenty-five years later, that teenager, now a man burdened by many bad decisions, accompanies his daughter to the Halloween party at the International School on the outskirts of Madrid. There, he chats with a stranger who hides behind a mask. The seemingly inconsequential conversation soon leads him back to that night. There's no other option but to accept that it's finally Sunday, the day that forces us to confront our past.
