En el centenario de la Generación del 27, Alianza recupera las voces esenciales y amplía la mirada sobre un movimiento decisivo.
María Zambrano (Vélez-Málaga, 1904 – Madrid, 1991) was one of the most distinctive voices in 20th-century Spanish thought. A student of Ortega y Gasset, she lived in long-term exile from 1939 until her return to Spain in 1984. In 1988, she became the first woman to receive the Cervantes Prize. Published in 1977, *Claros del bosque* (*Clearings in the Forest*) stands as one of the pinnacles of her "poetic reason." Philosophy, poetry, music, and mysticism converge within these pages, drawing us toward a primordial sensibility—one that exists prior to time and the wounds it inflicts. In the face of displacement, Zambrano seeks an inner homeland: a space of revelation where things and beings regain their clarity, and where it becomes possible to glimpse, for an instant, a lost unity. The "clearing" cannot be conquered; it is discovered when one’s gaze learns to wait. Language accompanies this encounter without exhausting its mystery. Thinking thus becomes a form of listening—an attentiveness to all that typically remains hidden beneath the noise of the world. And reading becomes an invitation to pause at that threshold where life may reveal itself anew. A key work for discovering the richness of the Generation of '27.
