Mujer de barro

Abandoned by her own mother on the banks of the Black Snake River, the little "mud girl" survives thanks to chance—or perhaps destiny. The well-meaning couple who adopts her tries to bury her past. But the past always returns. Meredith Neukirchen is the first woman to assume the presidency of one of the eight prestigious Ivy League universities. She is a woman wholly dedicated to her career, driven by an all-consuming moral fervor. Yet, amidst a political crisis and a long-standing secret affair, Meredith faces threats to her leadership that will test her in ways she never imagined. Later, she must confront the "mud girl" she thought she had left behind forever. How can she escape when the intelligence and fierce idealism that once liberated her now jeopardize her present?
