Jules has been divorced from Leon for five years, but she still works with him at Gunk, a seedy college club he runs in Brighton city center. Night after night, she pours shots behind the bar while watching him strut around with the students on the dance floor. Everything changes when Leon hires Nim, a waitress whose arrival awakens feelings in Jules that she thought were long gone. When Nim discovers she's pregnant, Jules offers to help her. As the months pass, their relationship becomes increasingly intimate and unsettling, and Jules discovers that Nim also possesses unexpected gifts of her own.
