Elizabeth Vaux—also known as Rocket Effy—is the youngest and most promising show jumper on the circuit. She has proven that age is no barrier to talent or composure, both in and out of the arena, but that isn't enough for her. There is still one record left to break. When she loses her coach just as she is on the verge of achieving it, Effy desperately needs a replacement—even if that person is the very last one she would ever have turned to. Rainer Keller, a retired former show-jumping champion, has spent the last five years in seclusion, unable to move past the events of his final World Championship. However, when Elizabeth’s coach calls in a favor owed from years ago, Rainer cannot refuse; he agrees to train her, even though sharing space with her reminds him of everything he wants to forget. Both must set aside their differences to focus on what binds them: ambition, undeniable talent, and a forbidden attraction that seems to entangle them without permission. Elizabeth is determined: she will make history, no matter the cost.
