Poesías

With "Poesías," Unamuno establishes himself within the landscape of Spanish lyric poetry with a unique and distinct voice, through poems born from the personal, religious, and familial experiences he has lived through. His religious crisis, his political conduct—expressions of the tragic dichotomy of the Spanish people—and the vein of tenderness and human emotion that silently and continuously emerges from the poet's soul are all expressed in the word "dolor" (pain), so rich in connotations throughout his work.
