The origin of this book lies in a series of lectures the author delivered in the Philosophy Department at Princeton University, in which he explored the philosophical implications of the ongoing scientific revolution. Twentieth-century science has forever transformed our understanding of reality, even though we are far from being able to say that it makes sense (perhaps we never will).
