Summer of 1960. In the small town of Elm Haven, Illinois, five twelve-year-old pre-teens spend their days riding bikes, playing games, and making the discoveries typical of a peaceful childhood in an idyllic setting. However, after the disappearance of a classmate, their thirst for adventure leads them to uncover far more than they bargained for: a parallel world where reality and fantasy are barely distinguishable. The unexpected ringing of a strange European bell in the middle of the night marks the end of their tranquil days. Now, from the depths of Old Central School, evil lurks. Unusual and chilling events begin to take over daily life, spreading fear throughout the town: a dead soldier who haunts them, giant worms beneath the ground, the animated body of a deceased teacher, and a series of demons that have awakened and that only our five protagonists can challenge, determined to end the dark force that dominates the night...
