Sloane Grayson, a journalist specializing in cold cases, has arrived in a small mountain town in Virginia to solve a mystery. Thirty years ago, her mother was one of four women who disappeared during a music festival. The event's promoter was convicted of the murders, and Sheriff C.J. Taggart closed the case. But for Sloane, it's still not solved. The bodies were never found. Taggart died years ago, so Sloane will have to talk to the victims' families and the few remaining witnesses, but perhaps no one wants to relive a crime that scarred the town forever.
