Every poem is a strategy that either distances us from or draws us closer to reality. This book brings together two essential moments in Julia Barella's writing: the poems written between 1975 and 1980, previously unpublished ('Of Islands' and 'The Streets of Madrid'), in which desire, love, and nature coexist with the experience of years marked by street violence and the struggle against injustice.
