It's the summer of 1959, and the Palace of Versailles is hosting a gala that will make history. An exclusive ball where a select group of American and French debutantes will be presented to international society and royalty. For four of the young women invited, it will be an event they will never forget. Amelia Alexander, hoping to be admitted to law school, hesitates to participate in what she considers an archaic tradition.
