Somewhere in Northern Europe, a five-star hotel with a spa and convention center welcomes anyone who can afford it. But in every corner where luxury should reign, something is amiss. A demanding VIP client vanishes without a trace. A young civil servant gets lost searching for his room. A marginalized masseuse struggles to be accepted. Two lovers try to escape the horrors of everyday life. An egocentric director begins to doubt himself. Abused employees accept their grim fate. Curious inspectors arrive to settle scores. Meanwhile, mysterious damp damage spreads. Amid the extravagant decor, a black, viscous liquid slowly seeps through the resort's labyrinthine corridors and trickles down the walls. Heat and humidity envelop everything. Mold appears, and with it, skin diseases, hallucinations, ghosts, malevolent spirits, hybrid creatures, and other monsters, both living and dead.
