Light Years compiles more than two decades of Jacobo García's work as a correspondent in Mexico, Central America, Venezuela, Colombia, and Haiti for media outlets such as COPE, El Mundo, Associated Press, Clarín, and El País. This book is a long chronicle of his professional career, drawing on his reports, unpublished pages from his notebook, newsroom debates, and conversations with colleagues after intense assignments. The author, a tireless and daring reporter, explores some of the most important episodes in recent Latin American history through the recurring themes in his writing: violence, authoritarianism, climate change and natural disasters, courageous women, and the power of culture.
