Claves para entender la poesía de la Generación del 27

The Generation of '27 refers to a group of great poets, all friends, who were aware of their shared identity: Salinas, Guillén, Diego, García Lorca, Alonso, Aleixandre, Prados, Cernuda, Alberti, and Altolaguirre. It was the tribute they paid in 1927 to the great poet of the Golden Age, Góngora, on the third centenary of his death, that gave them their name. They embraced tradition, blended it with the European avant-garde, and shaped it with their very different talents.
