La casa del jazmín

The roads that shimmer in the forest of this poet's previous volume always begin and end at the house of jasmine. These new poems also spring from that same wellspring of a Unamuno-esque "feeling for nature" in a meditative flow, but without the interference of theoretical reflections or metaphysical musings. In this new collection, the vision is more encompassing, yet always adhering to the flow of nature: the reddish autumn colors, the frost on the holm oaks, the wild and nearby animals —chamois, wild boar, the roe deer and her fawn coming down to graze in the meadow, always the birds— the mountain pass shrouded in wisps of mist, the village that appears and disappears amidst the rain and the greenery, the headlights of the tractors resembling giant fireflies in the harvest.
