Cuentos mexicanos contemporáneos

The stories collected here are mostly written by Mexican authors born in the first half of the 20th century. But they share something else in common: the narrator presents glimpses of the surrounding reality, but due to the brevity required, strives to capture moments, and succeeds. Another common characteristic is their high linguistic and literary quality. All the stories boast precise and accurate vocabulary, as well as the use of local terms that perfectly situate the reader. And that is precisely what these stories achieve: any anecdote, conversation, life situation, feeling... a single word can represent, and does represent, a story.
