De pájaros invisibles

Throughout the eight stories presented in this anthology, a lyrical, emotive thread emerges, which, along with their characteristic everyday life, becomes a kind of common thread connecting the themes explored. This thread is not without irony and subtle humor in some of the stories. As María Elena Llana herself states in an interview, "I approach writing (the stories) with humility, without seeking technical virtuosity, and trying to ensure that the resources I employ serve as vehicles, without taking center stage." This strategy is evident in "The Bride," a story in which we can appreciate a great simplicity while the narrative builds toward a highly intense finale. The author experiences literature in a unique way. "Literature is born from contact with the environment; it is the solidification of the thinking being through lived experience, from which it obtains the tools to capture that very environment."
