Colombian literature undoubtedly has its origins in pre-Columbian myths and legends. The oral tradition, which still persists in many Colombian communities, is also reflected in the themes and forms of many contemporary narratives. Furthermore, the development of the short story in Colombia is linked to the geographical regions into which the country is divided. In this anthology of Colombian short stories, we have sought to offer a brief glimpse into the work of authors from different eras, deliberately avoiding those already widely known, whose stories bring us closer to the Colombian people, their roots, their customs, their feelings... With vibrant imagery, rhythm, and heartfelt storytelling, we delve into a particularly rich literary tradition.
