These stories are stories of Madrid because they take place in Madrid. Each one describes a unique, perhaps unrepeatable, era, moment, or character. Taken together, they aim to be a stroll, a journey—perhaps a nostalgic one—through the history of a city and its inhabitants, allowing us to discover what remains of that peaceful, provincial city, glimpsed in the first story, in this other city of our hectic times.
