The left is on the wrong foot, timid and hesitant, in the face of the barbarity driven by technofascist turbocapitalism: it is not an imminent future, but an invasive reality affecting all spheres of Western societies. The essence of the welfare state is at risk under the reign of algorithms without public oversight and an unprecedented concentration of power. Disoriented and on the defensive, the left faces the urgent task of strengthening civil gains in the new and savage digital age.
