For many decades, the journal Ínsula has been an essential space for Hispanic culture, where thought, poetry, and literary criticism have engaged in uninterrupted and unhindered dialogue. To celebrate its 80th anniversary, Arantxa Gómez Sancho—editor of Ínsula—has brought together in this anthology a constellation of essential voices from the current poetic landscape in Spain and Latin America, featuring creators who have shaped the course of our literature from the late 20th century to the present day. Each poet contributes a poem and an intimate reflection, as illuminating as it is relevant, on their writing, on the act of writing itself: How does a poem emerge? What leads us to that revelation of language?
