Originally published in 1996, after forever etching Latin American literature with words of both soft and furious sound like "AIDS ward" and "madhouse," Loco afán (Crazy Craving) paints, in the words of Pedro Lemebel himself, "an archaic frieze where the intrusion of a gay patron had not yet left its mark. Where the native territory had not yet received the contagion of the plague, as a recolonization through bodily fluids.
