In the near future, the Korean conglomerate LK is building the world's first space elevator on the tropical island of Patusan, transforming the former settlement into a strategic hub for global transportation… and sparking growing tension with the local population, who see their territory being swallowed up by corporate interests. When Mac discovers that LK's former CEO, who died years earlier, left a file of personal data of enormous strategic value hidden in the elevator's orbital counterweight, a silent race to obtain that information begins.
