I have traveled to unknown lands, I have reached the ends of the earth, I have descended into Hades, from which no living man has ever returned, I have seen wondrous creatures, savage monsters, cannibals, giants, unimaginable beings. And I have lost everything. Let me tell you how I came to be here, after so much time lost at sea. First, I will tell you my name: I am Odysseus, son of Laertes, from the island of Ithaca.
