La tormenta que desatamos

Bintang Estate, Malaysia, 1945: Cecily Alcántara's family is in grave danger. Her fifteen-year-old son has disappeared, her eldest daughter is growing increasingly angry, and her youngest is hiding in the cellar to avoid being taken to one of the war brothels for Japanese soldiers. One day, a seemingly chance encounter with the charismatic General Fujiwara awakens her from her lethargy and immediately sweeps her into a whirlwind of espionage and passion in which, for the first time, she feels like the protagonist of a grand dream: to return "Asia to the Asians." By becoming Fujiwara's personal spy, she unwittingly alters the fate of her country, which has embraced a form of Japanese dictatorship during World War II.
