La piedad

Ramiro is eighteen years old and has an opportunity: to go to Madrid to study at university and leave behind his life in his village. But at home remain his father and his uncle Amador, a disabled man whom he has always cared for like an older brother. When Piedad, the prostitute Amador is in love with, disappears without a trace, Ramiro and his uncle embark on a journey through the mountains of León to find her. A journey that will take them along back roads, through village bars, and across landscapes that seem to never change, and in which Ramiro will have to decide who he wants to be and whether he should leave and start over, or stay and take on everything that no one else can handle.
