Las horas oscuras

The elders tell of a time long ago, at the dawn of the millennium's end, when a stranger arrived in the misty lands of Ireland on a mysterious mission. They say this man, a tormented yet valiant monk named Brian of Liébana, was fleeing from pale-skinned, dark-hearted knights whose name no one dares utter without crossing themselves. The oldest among them claim that Brian and his companions dared to rebuild the monastery of Saint Columbanus, once the site of a cruel massacre. And while some swear that desecrating those ruins marked the beginning of all misfortune, others believe it was the presence within its walls of a beautiful Celtic woman that provoked God's wrath.
