In this world, there are beings known as Forks and Cakes. Forks are predators, and Cakes are prey. Both look and live like normal humans, with the sole difference being that Forks have no sense of taste. However, they can only taste the bodily fluids of Cakes, and their flavor is so incredibly sweet that some Forks can't resist the urge and commit crimes. Forks are often said to be potential criminals, and Akemi, a popular student at school, lives in hiding as a Fork. One day, after saving a student library committee member from an accident, she tastes the boy's sweat in her mouth and thinks it's sweet.
