Rosas muertas

In Puerto Castro, a small coastal town gripped by winter, nothing is as peaceful as it seems. When Valeria Lucas's body is found in an abandoned warehouse at the port, Inspector Kai Vila is sent from Barcelona to the north to take charge of the investigation. But he soon discovers he's not dealing with a simple murder. There, he's forced to work with his ex-wife, Inspector Martina Mencía, and Rodrigo Aldana, a cybersecurity analyst. The three of them begin to unravel a thread that leads to a disturbing pattern: what appeared to be an isolated crime turns out to be a series of 'accidental' deaths: falls, blows, poorly explained domestic scenes. They all share one detail: rose petals scattered near the bodies. As fear spreads through the town, the Calabrian mafia, the 'Ndrangheta, pulls the strings at the port, the smuggling operations, and a good part of the local government. To advance the case, Kai and Martina will have to make a deal with the Rinna brothers: Bernabé, cold, charismatic, and efficient; and Marcelo, unpredictable and violent, capable of turning any interrogation into a threat. Each new clue connects the victims in a way no one wants to see and pushes the team to cross lines they swore to respect. In Puerto Castro, everyone is hiding something, roses never appear by chance... and finding the culprit could cost much more than lives.
