El mundo sumergido

Seas, swamps, and lagoons cover most of the Earth. Rising temperatures have created a tropical climate, causing flora and fauna to proliferate extraordinarily, and the world seems to have reverted to the Triassic period. The few remaining humans must travel by boat and survive on the scant remnants of civilization they can find on the upper floors of now-submerged skyscrapers. They live under constant threat from animals, insects, and diseases, which are now difficult to combat. In this world, Kerans tries to survive, though he often seems more of an ally than an enemy of a nature that seeks to eliminate humanity. However, beyond the adventure, the psychological development of the characters is reflected in marvelous and surprising images, as the struggle also plays out within each person and between them, because shared misfortune is no obstacle to envy, rivalry, and selfishness.
