El Fratricida

In an Iberian Peninsula fragmented by rival ambitions, Castile has become the epicenter of a ruthless struggle for power. After his father's death during the Black Death, Pedro I ascends the throne as a mere teenager. He soon faces a divided kingdom, marked by the intrigues of the nobility and the constant threat of his brother, Henry of Trastámara, who is determined to seize the crown. With a mixture of firmness and clemency, Pedro attempts to maintain control, but his relationship with María de Padilla and his rejection of his wife, Blanche of Bourbon, lead to a rupture with the aristocracy. The betrayal reaches its peak when his own allies turn against him. Captured and humiliated, he manages to escape and reclaim the throne, emerging transformed into a more distrustful and ruthless man. Meanwhile, after having gone into exile in France and forging alliances within the framework of the Hundred Years' War, Henry will return to Castile to dispute the throne amidst the war with Aragon, a conflict that will soon transcend dynastic matters and become international.
