Abde, the son of Moroccan immigrants, grows up in Spain in the early 2000s. In his first year of secondary school, he discovers some important things: that his name is still an obstacle for some, that candles illuminate homework when money is tight, that at home problems are discussed in another language, and that his roots will never reach those his parents planted in another land. On this edge, Abde learns to see the world with a mixture of innocence and lucidity that only children who listen more than they speak possess. He tries to understand who he is when everyone seems to have the answers except him. And he discovers that growing up is a strange adventure, sometimes unfair, but almost always exciting (especially when you survive). An intimate story about identity, family, and everyday survival that gives voice to a reality increasingly visible in our country: second-generation immigration.
