Basura

We will soon be buried in trash—but why? You just lift the lid, toss in the waste, and the trash is gone! Children know full well that things aren't that simple. They have heard about giant mountains of refuse and islands of plastic in the ocean. They are worried. And they want to do something about it. Gerda Raidt encourages children to get actively involved. Through a wealth of illustrations and text, the author describes where waste goes after garbage trucks collect it, why it travels around the globe—and even speeds through space—why we generate tons of refuse, and how we can change things, starting with ourselves.
