My job, if you think about it, isn't so different from other people's. The old-fashioned types tend to be shocked by the "killing people" part, I suppose, but screw them: it's been legal to take out freeloaders for ages. Besides, ever since those damn billionaires realized there was a way to live forever (screw limited resources), it was necessary to make it clear to them that they couldn't just do whatever the hell they wanted. And, of course, you also have to plan things, which can be a real drag sometimes. The schedule is awful. And face-to-face interactions are usually pretty awkward. But I have to put up with all that because I'm drowning in debt. And someone has to take the fall. Luckily, my genetic compatibility makes me very, very good at what I do. Even so… my next assignment… I don't know. I haven't had to deal with anything like this in years. It's the complete opposite of what I usually get to do. Actually, I'm surprised they saddled me with it. But anyway, I'm sure everything will be fine.
