If someone had told me a few years ago that I was going to write a book about a dog, I would have answered the same way I did when Laura suggested adopting one: that they were completely crazy. I wasn't a dog person. Or so I thought. Until Risa appeared. Small, black, and oblivious to the chaos I was about to unleash in my life. This book tells how a dog I wasn't looking for ended up becoming part of my family and my way of understanding the world.
