La luz entre los océanos

One April morning in 1926, a boat washes ashore on the rocky coast of a remote Australian island. Inside lie a dead man and a baby crying desperately. Tom Sherbourne, the lighthouse keeper, and his young wife, Isabel, come to their aid. They have settled on the island to escape the horrors of the First World War, and the only thing that mars their happiness is their inability to have children. Moved by such a fragile and defenseless being, Tom and Isabel decide to follow their hearts and adopt the child, without notifying the authorities. A couple of years later, when they learn that the baby's mother is alive and still hopes to find her daughter, tensions rise between the couple. Isabel can no longer imagine life without little Lucy, but the decision they must make and the suffering of the biological mother will set off a chain of unforeseen consequences.
