África contra Hegel

"Africa vs Hegel" is neither an illustrated essay nor a philosophical biography. It is an experimental narrative confrontation—dramatized through collages and hand-drawn manuscripts—between a self-contained Western European worldview and other contemporary perspectives emerging from Africa that offer new ways of thinking about life, history, community, and the future. The project is the fruit of thirty years of research. It is neither opportunistic nor merely thematic; rather, it is the result of over three decades of travel, research, interviews, and dialogue between Pere Ortín and African thinkers, artists, and intellectuals whose reflections fill its pages. Nzé Esono Ebalé is one of Equatorial Guinea’s most renowned visual artists and has collaborated with the Centro Dramático Nacional, the CCCB, and Ecologistas en Acción.
