Un día sin mujeres

In Reykjavik, Katla, a young sociologist, is devastated by the femicide of her friend Sofia. Upon discovering that her grandmother had participated in the great Icelandic women's strike, she decides to transform her grief into action: to launch a global strike against violence and inequality. This spark of rebellion soon crosses borders. In Tokyo, Michiko, pregnant, suffers humiliation and harassment at work for having "disturbed" the established order. Heartbroken, she takes refuge at her parents' house; her brother, an inmate, reveals her story online, sparking outrage among Japanese women. In El Salvador, Ana María, an exhausted worker, endures poverty, social violence, and the unjust imprisonment of her daughter. When her factory cancels the bonus that was supposed to fund a gift for her daughter, she rebels, triggering a chain of unexpected solidarity. In France, Aya, an exhausted Senegalese doctor, returns to her country to recharge; There, she saves a girl who is a victim of female genital mutilation and ultimately confronts her own trauma. Without knowing each other, they are all determined to say "no" to their situation and to fight back. As March 8th approaches, the movement seems unstoppable: could one day of strike action change history and open a future of justice and solidarity for women around the world?
