On an ordinary Friday, Chief Inspector Julián González, a veteran Madrid police officer, receives an anonymous letter announcing a murder. Little by little, what seemed like the threat of a madman transforms into a series of meticulously planned crimes. The victims appear to have no connection to one another, but the killer persists: only González can uncover and stop him. And with each letter, he leaves a new clue… and a new death. As the inspector and his team try to unravel the killer's trail, the investigation drags them into the darkest years of terrorism, into the shadow of corruption, and into the wounds of the Transition.
