Diecisiete cuentos de una de las más importantes pioneras de la literatura feminista. Incluye «El papel pintado amarillo», además de un buen número de relatos inéditos en español.
Charlotte Perkins Gilman's life (1860-1935) was marked by her tireless and multifaceted activity. In addition to being a writer, she was a lecturer, activist, designer, and sociologist. Through this kaleidoscopic social engagement, she dedicated herself particularly to the suffrage movement and the defense of women's and children's rights, to which she maintained a steadfast commitment throughout her life. Among her works, in addition to her short stories, in which she proposes a redefinition of masculinity, the pioneering novel of utopian feminism, Herland, translated into Spanish as El país de las mujeres (The Country of Women), stands out. This annotated edition brings together seventeen of her best stories. In addition to "If I Were a Man", some already well known in Spain are included, such as "The Yellow Wallpaper" or "The Giant Wisteria", but also others presented for the first time, such as "The Rocking Chair", "The Unexpected", "If I Were a Woman", "An Extinct Angelic Creature" or "Be Wise".
