Azul : Historia ilustrada de un color

Brilliant and luminous in its indigo hues, perfect and magnificent in its ultramarine shade, mysterious and intense like the starry nights in Van Gogh's paintings, blue has a unique history in every era and place. While highly prized by the Egyptians, who considered it the color of the gods, it was not favored by the Romans, for whom it symbolized mourning. Blue tones conquered Islamic art and colored the Virgin Mary's mantle in the Middle Ages. In more recent times, thanks to the discovery of synthetic pigments like Prussian blue and cobalt blue, and the popularization of jeans, it has become the most widely used color in clothing.
