Before becoming a comic book artist, Hiromu Arakawa worked for seven years on her family's farm in her native Hokkaido. Setting aside her career as a manga artist, in this autobiographical manga series she recounts amusing anecdotes about veterinarians, various vermin, farming clubs, farm cuisine, and succession issues on farms, among many other things. This volume covers topics as diverse as livestock identification numbers, beneficial and harmful insects, bovine and entomological facts, as well as various episodes involving thieves and nauseating smells.
