Fantasma

In the summer of 2023, on a Mediterranean archipelago, a ship's propeller gave the author of this book a new body. She lost part of her right leg, which became the ghost that haunts this book, written with sensitivity, critical insight, humor, and beauty. This is a memoir of loss, but also an essay on public healthcare, fame, war, jokes about the nervous system, love, and friendship. Ghost is the story of an accident and its consequences, but also an attempt to map what it means to rebuild, adapt, and redefine oneself.
