Un marido inventado

With her brother Thomas wounded on the front lines and having lost both her parents, Cecilia Harcourt faces two less-than-ideal options: move in with a spinster aunt or marry a twisted cousin. Instead, she chooses the third option and crosses the Atlantic, determined to care for her brother until he recovers. But after a week of searching, she doesn't find Thomas, but rather his best friend, the handsome officer Edward Rockesby. He's unconscious and desperately needs her care, and Cecilia promises to save the soldier's life, even if staying by his side means telling a little white lie. When Edward regains consciousness, he's quite confused. The head injury has caused him to lose his memory of the last three months, but he would certainly remember getting married. He knows who Cecilia Harcourt is —though he can't recall her face— but when everyone addresses her as his wife, he concludes it must be true, even though he had always thought he would marry his neighbor in England. Cecilia risks her future by giving herself completely to the man she loves. But when the truth comes out, Edward may also have a few surprises in store for the new Mrs. Rockesby.
