Bienvenidos a Cíes

Margarita Erauso, an epidemiologist in the Vigo area, is about to retire. When she's sent to investigate a food poisoning outbreak at a campsite on the idyllic Cíes Islands, Marga thinks it will be just another one of the many epidemics she's managed throughout her career. But things soon start to go wrong. The illness spreads with alarming speed, those affected exhibit increasingly aggressive behavior, and one of the patients has to be transferred to Vigo's Central Hospital. There, preventive medicine physician Carmela and nurse Rosalía witness firsthand how the infection begins to wreak havoc among patients and medical staff. Meanwhile, local politicians try to cover up the beginning of a health crisis that threatens to explode… and exploit it for their own gain. With the help of Pedrito, a resident physician, and Eusebio, a forest ranger on the Cíes Islands, Marga will have to face the most unexpected —and chillingly funny— challenge of her entire career.
