Redenta was born in Castrocaro on the very day of an event that shook Italy. Whispers circulated in the village that she brought misfortune and wouldn't even live to see the feast of Saint Roch. But when the day arrived, she was still there… while the country witnessed the tragic outcome of that event. Thus began fascism, and also Redenta's story. In a world marked by war and male violence, Redenta clung to an unyielding faith in people. And when the fascist leader Vidrio chose her as his wife, the brutality he inflicted upon her did not extinguish her instinct for salvation: the salvation of others, even before her own. Her destiny would eventually intertwine with that of Iris, a partisan in the band of the legendary Commander Díaz. But what secret did Iris hold?
