The Titans F.C. participate for the first time in the PITUFO (UNESCO's International Organised Football Tournament Programme) and travel to Monterrey, Mexico, to face Instituto Regiomontano. There, Grillo buys a mysterious Aztec mask at a flea market. The mask seems to be alive and begins to cause him bizarre visions, nightmares, and accidents. While the team adjusts to Mexican food, training, and the nerves of the big game, Grillo tries to unravel the enigma of the Crazy Coyote mask before it ruins the match... or takes his soul to the afterlife.
