Lobos

Lobos stages —and unfolds on the road, for it is a long and unsettling car journey— the difficult relationship between a father and his teenage daughter as they cross the United States toward a radical ecology camp she has decided to attend. The daughter's fragile health and that of her best friend, the father's political and literary anxieties, and new social perspectives on language and behavior create a chasm between them that love and mutual commitment cannot bridge. Catastrophe resides in their bodies and in the collapse of their known world. The journey is, therefore, an incursion of no return into the language of farewells and paranoia, while the father carries a manuscript with him, just as the daughter carries her fury.
